# Companion

Companions are critters and beasts that heroes have bonded with at some point in their lives.

They are helpful to the hero and will actively engage with whatever challenges those heroes face. Since this bond is so rare and takes an immense amount of time and effort — the Companion trait is one of the rarest traits in the [Genesis Immortals Collection](/game-information/genesis-immortals.md).

Some high end quests will specifically ask for companions to be present in order to fully max out a party’s quest score. The available companions are displayed below, however, [Tariel Tridysa](/lore-and-story/heroes-of-wyvernia/tariel-tridysa.md) also has a companion called Ferril.

The Companion Status and Quantity in the [Genesis Immortals Collection](/game-information/genesis-immortals.md) are listed below:

| Companion Status | Quantity |
| ---------------- | -------- |
| No Companion     | 9,824    |
| Companion        | 175      |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://info.skybornegenesis.com/game-information/genesis-immortals/gameplay-traits/companion.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
